More ‘hate’ for tractor drivers than caravanners, Sunday drivers and cyclists

Owners of caravans have cause to celebrate after a recent poll by an insurance company showed they are no longer the most hated road users.

After holding on to the dubious title for several years, they have been dislodged by tractor drivers.

Cyclists were disliked less than caravanners, Sunday drivers and learners.

A spokesperson for the ETA, said: “These polls are presented as tongue in cheek but any talk of hatred for any particular group of road users fuels tribalism that is at the very least unhelpful and at worst dangerous.”

Stuck behind a tractor? It could be worse

Tractors are considered irksome because they are unable to drive fast, but consider the alternative.

Swedish farmer Mikael Karlsson equipped his tractor with the engine from a Volvo 240 Turbo.

Those frustrated by slow-moving tractors would more than likely prefer to be patient rather than face Karlsson’s creation on a small country road…
