The Netherlands: almost all rear lights on Dutch bicycles have been LED’s for at least the last ten years now. The better types have a ‘low battery’ warning indicator and an ‘auto’ setting that switches them on when dusk falls. For their front lights most people prefer the reliabilty and convenience of a dynamo, although LED front lights have become more popular. Again for convenience, these are permanently fixed to the bikes, just as dynamo lights are. Flashing lights however, front or rear, are not permitted.
