What better way to guarantee clean gym gear than the Bike Washing Machine?
Rather than spinning a heavy flywheel, pedalling the Bike Washing Machine operates a drum full of your dirty washing. The bike also generates electricity, with any left over being used to power the bike’s display screen or stored for future use.
The project is the brainchild of students at Dalian Nationalities University in Liaoning, China.
If you need a little extra boost of energy before the Bike Washing Machine spin cycle, how about an espresso at the Velopresso? The pedal-powered mobile coffee bar trike cannot grind a bean until the barista sets a pace. The British-built Velopresso is pitched as an ‘efficient, robust and humanised machine’ perfect for city streets and piazzas.
During the development of the trike, the designers discovered that pedalling was not an option for generating heat directly or producing sufficient electricity for an espresso machine’s standard 3kW electrical heating element, so they instead installed a gas burner that uses LPG. Every other operation is pedal-powered, an ‘off-grid’ capability that offers the promise of coffee at the most remote of cycle ride stops.

One simple policy
For 25 years we have been providing straightforward, affordable bicycle insurance. Whether you use your bike to commute, shop, race or amble in the park, ETA Cycle Insurance has you covered.
Many cycle insurers offer very limited cover, charging extra for features we believe should come as standard – such as third party cover, personal accident or extension of your cover to family and friends. ETA Cycle Insurance provides one fully-comprehensive package for total peace of mind, whatever your cycling needs.
Every cycle insurance policy you buy helps support the work of the ETA Trust, our charity campaigning for a cleaner, safer transport future.

This would be ideal for doing the laundry and getting exercise while camping! Is it going to be on sale in UK?
