TrackerPad is a GPS sticker for your bicycle. No larger than a ten pence coin, the rechargeable pad promises to pinpoint the location of a stolen bike wherever it is in the world to within 2.5 metres.
Using a built-in SIM card and a GPS measuring only 10 x 3.8 mm, the TrackerPads claim to be small and slim enough to hide on anything with value – from a bicycle or motorbike down to your wallet.
Trackerpad update: Unfortunately, despite many orders secured via crowdfunding, the TrackerPad proved to be little more than vaporware and was removed by Kickstarter from its site.
Environmentally friendly cycle insurance
On the face of it, one cycle insurance policy is much like another, but the devil is the detail. How much excess you will be charged is just one of the things that varies wildly between providers. Another is so called ‘new-for-old’ replacement – many insurers use this term, but if your bicycle is more than a few years old, devalue it severely. This means you are left out of pocket when you come to replace it. Read our insider guide to cycle insurance.
Furthermore, every cycle insurance policy you buy from us helps support the work of the ETA Trust, our charity campaigning for a cleaner, safer transport future.
ETA cycle insurance has a low standard excess of 5% (minimum £25) and offers a new-for-old for life – how ever old the bike, if it’s stolen you get enough to buy a new model. The policy covers electric bicycles as standard and includes a breakdown service for your bike and you that will take you up to 25 miles if you suffer a mechanical problem or puncture. Your battery is covered against theft as standard.
For 25 years we have been providing straightforward, affordable bicycle insurance. Whether you use your bike to commute, shop, race or amble in the park, ETA Cycle Insurance has you covered. We never devalues bikes no matter their age, allow you to buy your replacement bike wherever you like, replace stolen quick release components and we handle claims in-house.
Can your insurance provider say the same?

I have a Pedego Electric Bicycle with a value of $3000. They are often a target of thieves so I would put one on the bike in a place that wouldn’t be noticed. My wife is constantly searching for her iPhone and it’s usually somewhere in the house or the car. She could put one on her phone and I could you the App to locate it for her.
PghDragonman

My two new Australian Kelpie puppies arriving in Seattle from Modena, Italy on August 18th. An all black female and her blue sibling brother.

Having walked up on someone in the process of stealing my POS van just recently one night, I’d have to say I’d put one on that, if only to track the thief down & ask them “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?” if it should actually disappear in the future. And my motorcycle. Fortunately, my daily rider is a 20+ y.o. bicycle that if someone was desperate enough to steal, I can afford to write off & say “you need it more than I do!” & go out & buy a new bike. Until then, it keeps soldiering on. Gotta love it!
Daryll Kirley
I’d put one on my keys and one on my bike
Finn H
Mountain Bike and Dad’s Mountain Bike!

Mine and my husbands’ beautiful Trek hybrids. We bought them after having to scrap our car and within 2 weeks mine was stolen. My lovely family kindly paid for a new one and we now have proper insurance with yourselves! In two days we are embarking on our first cycling holiday, to the Peak District, to celebrate our first weding anniversary. These trackers would give us great peace of mind living and often parking our bikes in the city centre.

Definitely my bike as I’ve had 2 stolen in the past, and probably the other one on my son who keeps insisting on jetting off to the other side of the world and I never know which country he’s in. He would hate the idea of me keeping track of him!! A mother’s prerogative I feel!

Mark B
One on my bike and the other on my house. Always be able to find my way home then!

I would stick one inside the fibreglass top shell of my outboard engines that would be a nasty surprise for the dratted light fingered engine thief.
The other could go inside the dinghy. With wireless charging I could charge without having to open the case (maybe a discreet pen mark on the outside of the case to help me find the correct place for the charger).
Iain Stevenson
Bike and my phone!
Cati Smith
One on my bike, one on my dog. Nothing else matters 🙂

Only two pads and so much to loose…! Bike, wallet, keys, phone, 2 kids etc. My choice is between kids and keys and wallet. I’ve never lost the bike… Maybe one kid and wallet- certainly need the second with the first!
Gordon Oliver
I’d stick one on my wife as she has no sense of direction and is always getting lost. I’d stick the other on my favourite bike.
Peter Alderslade
I’d protect my bike and find my car.
I’d buy two more to find my keys and wallet.
Jonathan Hunt
I’d put one on my caravan and the other on my best bicycle. This device is light and discreet enough not to ruin it! Yes please, gimme, gimme, gimme! 😀

Peter Smith

having got to a certain age … my glasses and my keys! Given I loose each around 10 times a day the TrackerPad will give me back hours of searching time each week!
Reneta Bozhinovska
I wish I had this two weeks ago when my beloved bike had been stolen. Thanks to ETA insurance, it’s been paid fully, but still I’m devastated, not just because I’ve lost my bike, I have lost a lot of memories too sadly. Hopefully, my new bike will be bringing nice new adventures. I’d stick these to my new bike (arriving on Monday! 🙂 ) and to my boyfriends bike!
John B Scothern

My bike and my wallet. Without my wallet I couldn’t keep my bike on the road.
Joe Norman
Bike and smart car.
Not sure where on the bike as its not clear how the tracker pad attaches. Probably tucked away in the pannier bag or under the saddle.
Barbara
I would have to put one on my keys as I lose them most often. The other would be very useful in helping me remember where I’ve left my bike!
Roger
too late for my touring bike that took me for many miles around Europe but for it’s replacement and rucksack
Andy Gatt
I’d stick the TrackerPads on my Brompton and on my car. I have had bicycles and cars stolen and would love to catch thieves should they try and take my current vehicles.

Charlotte Young
My bike and my laptop!
Richard
My most valued bike and my car
Hilary
One on each of the dogs collars and another for bike
Chris Johnson
Two of my bikes. And maybe I’d buy two trackers more for the other two bikes. Maybe I’d buy even more trackers, one for each member of my football team (there’s always at least one player who “goes missing” during a game ;o)

On my forehead so the wife can come get me when I’m lost with a broken chain …. and on the dog so we can go find him when he needs recovering also – he’s old and gets confused like his owner ….. great idea and the uses are endless as well as foiling the thieves..
Luke Bennett
My brother and I have matching bikes, partly because they’re amazing bikes but mostly because it’s cool to still have matching things as siblings when you’re older than 10. I’d use the pads on his and my bikes to make sure they are never seperated by ill-doers or vagabonds. There’s nothing sadder than a lonely steed.
David Aleu
My two doggies!
Matt Hodges
My Wife’s phone then I could tell her where she had left it and she wouldn’t need to pinch mine.
Also my trike.

Great idea but it seesm the kickstarter page has been closed without the target being reached -does this mean they won’t be produced? And should this competition still be open I’d stick mine on my electric bike and my petrol mower.

I will put it to the watch and anything that goes along which my child because it will help to track where they are.
At the same time, i would like to know more if it is reliable and suitable for use at any country? If so, i am more interested to be your direct dealer to introduce it to my country. Thanks a lot.
Liana
I’d put it on everything of value. My Phantom 3 Professional Quadcopter Drone, my phone, laptop and especially my elderly mother.
I’d probably put one on my forehead if it wasn’t connected to my body, too.
Just curious…Is anyone winning anything?
David Dunn
