A competent cyclist uses a combination of good road positioning, observation and hand signals to command the road, but these are skills that take time to acquire. Seeking to give novice riders extra confidence is an Australian start-up that has designed cycling gloves with indicators built in .
beSEENS feature motion detection, which means they activate automatically as the glove is raised. Each glove has a removeable power pod that holds seven ‘LEDs visible to 30m during the day and 100m at night. The battery lasts up to 7 hours with continuous use and can be recharged via a USB.

Definitely indicating a preference for a pair of these…
Bryn Jones
Cars display lights in daylight when turning (and when not turning), so why not bikes. beSeens are number one on my list of necessities.

In the words of David Rodigan, “GIMME SOME SIGNAL!”

Captain Beany
Have to HAND it to you, these should fit me like a glove! 🙂
John Bell
Great for the dark winter nights.
CraigS-A
Wow- these look great. I have no issues during the day but at night signalling can sometimes not be as obvious to road users especially in badly lit areas.
christina tidy
sounds like the perfect idea for cycling in london. particularly when its dark!
Nicholas Kilpatrick
Fantastic idea for the cyclist who rides at night. I have to make many turns in my journey to and from work often at night. Hand signals don’t work in the pitch black until cars are much closer to you.
Donna Marsden
A bit Flashy. But all the indications are that they will be a success, left, right and centre. A really bright idea!
Dick Willis
Very, very sensible. I’d like some.
Richard Scrase
Marvellous mitts, yes please
Guy Brenchley
… combine these with some armwarmers with retroreflective material and signalling becomes a lot more visible. A really good idea.
David Futter
I’ve got some flashing lights that fit into the end of the handlebars (Winglights by CYCL) They are good, but can’t withstand the bike falling over when left unattended! I did wonder whether fitting lights to gloves would be more effective. The only drawback with gloves is how does oncoming traffic see the lights on a right turn.
Frank Lee
No substitute for riding defensively – but anything to make drivers more aware is helpful – so I would definitely use them at night…
Koliflower
Groovy granny wearing these would spread the love of cycling for the over 60s
Chris Dawson
Brilliant idea. I would definitely use them
Sue Whitham
Why these have not been invented before I don’t know! It is so so scary indicating right in the dark -drivers just ignore you -and I am usually covered in reflective stuff and illuminated like a Christmas tree
Su
A great help for safety.
Barbara
These gloves INDICATE greater safety for cyclists!
Carl Penny
Cycle equipment/safety seems to be going in the right direction 🙂

Nick
Good idea!
Al Reed
Great idea
Robin
What a bright idea, no pun intended (was really).
Jane
An excellent idea! Anything to that help attract the attention of drivers and communicate intention is a good thing. I have a suspicion that indicator lights might subconsciously influence drivers brains into believing we exist and are allowed to make right turns. …Ha! -As if…!
sanjay
love them 🙂
Penny Pitty
Would be great for my 15 year old granddaughter, who relies on her bike to get to school and all her other activities, in Norwich.

That’s a bright idea. I cycle year round, and during the winter months, on dark roads, I often think that other road users won’t be able to see my hand signals.
Paul .s
Think i’d look rather flash in these #eta #FTW
Sandi Moon
OMG…. These gloves are exactly what us cyclists need…..
