Mavic cycling top up for grabs

The Mavic Exclusive Cosmic Jersey promises to keep you feeling comfortable and ventilated on warmer days. It features Ride Wick ST tech, which sounds complicated but simply means it has high levels of breathability and wicks sweat away from the skin. Pro Fit construction ensures a snug fit without restricting movement and the Ergo Grip SL-Silicone hip grip keeps everything in place.

We have one of the jerseys in medium to give away (chest 93cm – 97cm, waist 81cm – 84cm, hips 95cm – 98cm). To be entered into the draw, simply leave us a comment below and we will draw a winner next week.

Ethical cycle insurance

On the face of it, one cycle insurance policy is much like another, but the devil is the detail. Check your small print for so-called ‘new-for-old’ replacement – many insurers use the term, but if your bicycle is more than a few years old, devalue it severely. This means you are left out of pocket when you come to replace it.

With ETA cycle insurance, however old the bike, if it’s stolen you get enough to buy a new model. Furthermore, every cycle insurance policy you buy from us helps support the work of the ETA Trust, our charity campaigning for a cleaner, safer transport future. Little wonder The Good Shopping Guide has rated us ethical.

Nice top, but why is this one and most other cycling gear mainly only in dark colours. When uou so often hear ” sorry didnt see you mate” this does not help, when it could with better colours

Don’t fall into that old trap about dark clothing Edmund. I always ride with very bright rear flashing lights even during a bright sunny day and at night I have it on steady – it’s like a fog light. Damn sight more useful than dressing up in a coloured top that resembles a coloured condom.
Top quality lights are so cheap to buy now – there is no excuse. Don’t be an apolgist for motorist who kill.

ps by the way if you extend the scientific analysis outside of the narrow confines of cycling, yellow is the most visible and easily noticed colour to the human eye since it sits in the middle of the light spectrum.

A yellow car is much more visible than a black car.

Why do police officers wear yellow high visibility jackets?
Why not walk around with flashing lights attached?

Interesting that you did not make any mention of the fact that I said I had very bright lights flashing during daylight hours… my point was that THEY are more useful than dressing up in lurid colours.

How about printing the name of the “winner” the following week, just to prove that these giveaways actually exist. Also, anyone who has won previously cannot win again.

Key to achieving visibility is contrast. It all about standing out from the background. My bike is bright green, so this beauty from Mavic will match my black helmet, and make me visible against lighter colours. Thanks ETA!
