What a difference a week makes. After an unseasonably mild autumn, the chilly morning commute is back with a vengeance.
We’ve given away these dhb merino long-sleeved jerseys before, but they’re so effective when teamed up with a base layer or outer jacket that this cold snap has inspired us to buy another.
They say that cyclists of old would sometimes stuff a newspaper down the front of their jerseys to keep out the cold – a hack that’s no longer necessary with today’s technical fabrics. Merino wool is naturally breathable, anti-bacterial, lightweight and soft – qualities that make it ideally suited to cycling wear. However, this particular example uses a blended polyamide to allow for a snug fit and added a polypropylene layer on the inside of the fabric to help moisture evaporate quicker.
