Cycle Shed T-shirt stocking filler up for grabs

The idea behind the Viz comic ‘cycle shed’ might not be so crazy after all. With an estimated 800 bicycles stolen every day in Britain, how else does the urban cyclist short on space expected to store an expensive bike? We thought we’d cracked it with our flat-pack skip, or as we describe it – an urban clocking device for bicycles.

Entirely anonymous in the urban environment, the Biskiple can be remain entirely anonymous on most streets in the UK. A determined thief can break any lock, but if they don’t know the bike is there in the first place, it makes their job a lot harder.

    Mens Large please,
The Biskiple idea above, initially looks very cunning but what about a license and how to stop the public chucking heavy waste on top?
Also “The cost of a skip permit (or skip license) in London varies from £30 to £165 depending on the borough. The average fee is £68. A permit typically lasts 1 or 2 weeks” Expensive bike parking!

    The below taken from Gov.UK:
“Contact your local council for a skip licence if you want to put a skip on a public road.

In most areas, skip hire companies are responsible for getting skip licences, also sometimes called skip permits. In some areas you’ll need to do it yourself.

    You need a licence for:

    skips
    hippobags and other skip bags
    Restrictions
You can’t put a skip on the pavement. You don’t need a skip licence if you’re putting the skip entirely on private land.

You may need to put safety lights and markings on or around the skip. This could include:

    reflective markings
    traffic cones
    night-time safety lamps
the name and telephone number of the skip hire company
Contact your local council to find exact rules for lights and markings in your area.

    Fines and penalties
If you don’t put up the required safety lights and markings, you could be fined up to £1,000.”
