With a host of cycling apps now aimed at cyclists of all sorts, how best to attach your smartphone to your handlebars safely and securely? Finn is a universal smartphone mount for every bike and any handlebar.
Thanks to a simple design and high quality silicone material, the makers claim the mount can withstand whatever you throw at it.
Win a Finn universal smartphone mount
We’ve been given five of the Finn smartphone mounts worth £12 each to give away by Go Cycle, a cycling project run by Kingston council which we are proud to support. The Finns come with a code that allows you to download a London map for free (usually costs £5).
Simply leave us a quick comment at the bottom of this page and let us know how you use your smartphone while cycling and we’ll pick a winner after Easter.
ETA cycle insurance
ETA cycle insurance offers a sympathetic policy on the storage of bicycles. For example, as long as a shed door is locked, the bicycles stored within do not require any further security. In addition, the policy covers stolen quick-release components and for added peace of mind, claims are handled in-house. Furthermore, bikes are never devalued, no matter their age. Hardly surprising that The Good Shopping Guide rated us ethical in Britain.

Well this would help me stop getting lost and banging on an extra 20km to a long ride! I need this in my life (and on my bars)!
Arnold
I have just ordered a bell that has a type of sat nav in it.
Sean Moran
To check which Strava segment leads to best local cake shop
Martin S Ross
Excellent device, would love to road test one 🙂
Claire
Ooh this looks interesting – my phone lives in my bag when I cycle, which means pulling over and taking gloves off every time I need to check directions (and, inevitably, avoiding new and unknown routes as I have a terrible sense of direction). Not really ideal!
Bryn Jones
I would find this invaluable, just what I need!
Maxime Pley
Great stuff ! Need it
Claire McDaniel
I use the Samsung Health app to record my cycling but I have to keep it in the back pocket of my cycling top so I have no idea what miles or speed I am doing.
Neil gathani
I could do with this! Save me the pain on my left arm using a sports arm band! Hope it can withstand pot holes!
Phil
Havin it
Chris
Great for recording trips
Carl
Use smartphone for when I use turbo trainer, have to balance phone between light and fuel bag. Haven’t dropped it yet 🙂
Rory Harkins
At the moment I just shove it in a pocket and forget about it, but that might change if I win one of these.
Su
At the moment I don’t use my smartphone while cycling, as I don’t have any way of safely attaching it, but a Finn would solve that problem and would be brilliant!
John Fletcher
Would be just the impetus I need to finally enter the 21st century and buy myself a smartphone!
John
Neat little holder make using the smart phone a lot easier

We have cycled Calais to the Med for the past 4 years and find our phones indispensable for routes but more importantly accommodation. The bike mounts we had weren’t very secure – we had to use elastic bands over the top – very fiddly, would be great for 2 old timers to have some better ones.
Martin Otto
When I come to London on the train with my Brompton I often print out cycle routes from TFL and then have to stop to check them out and memorise the next section every so often. A Finn mount for my Fairphone would make life much easier. All I would need then would be an app to allow me to see the screen in full daylight!!
Charlotte
My health/active app is linked to my life insurance – the more active I am the lower my premium. I currently only track step count but this little gadget would enable me to track my cycling too! Win!
Robert Callan
If I dont win one I will buy one.
Tom
Looks like a great product. I run Strava on my phone – but it currently lives in my back pocket.
Paul Rock
Looks great.
DaveD
ideal , as my pockets are getting full !
Angela
I still live in the 20th century, with a maptrap on my handlebars. Why, I wonder, when I have a satnav for the car? I really would like this incentive to move into the 21st century on my bike.
Francis Voon
Finning heck! I want one.
Peter Chisnall
Wonderful
Patrick Lally
I keep my phone in my sock and play the odd tune
if I’m on a country road
and running out of juice.
Liz
Finn would help me use my cycle gps app to find my way around London without stopping to check my phone every few meters
Smarty
Clever evidence of the KISS principle working, occams razor validated and ease of use for me
Richard
Would be great to be able to have a map on the phone for exploring new routes.
Ruth Purdy
This looks like a great design, I’d use this!
Alex Ralton
I think my iphone would like it in preference to the damp muggy pocket it has to go into.
Alastair Seagroatt
Good to try on a smaller mobile
Jones the Bike
Could use it with stopwatch to time all the fettling time my cycling buddies seem to take instead of being ready to ride 😉
Gordon Robertson
I use a Finn and love it – would love a second one for my wife so we can see each other’s position on a route. Gordon
Mark B
Looks great. I’d love to try one.
Steven McKelvey
This September I’ll be cycling from north Kent to Paris for a local hospitals cancer ward. I’ll use this to keep all my sponcers updated with my ride.
DougMilly
If I win one of these, it will spur me on to getting a smart phone to go with it!
Jamie Johnson
Planning routes and counting miles…
Frank Lee
Absolutely strapping!
Gordon Robertson
I have a Finn and love it. Another for my wife would be super as we could follow each other’s routes.
Greg
Snappy strap, yes please
Paul Mallion
Now cyclists can be just as distracted as car drivers, texting on the road and crashing into stuff.
Peter Clark
Great idea. I Strava every mile I do, commute or sportive and have my phone tucked away in a pocket so would be ideal for me. Also I’ve tried mounts in the past but every time i upgrade my phone I need to buy a new one to fit it
Janet Robertson
This would be perfect for navigating the streets, plus clocking up the miles on Strava.
Alister Scott
Ideal for mounting on one of the London Santander hire bikes which I use every week. It’ll mean i can listen to directions and look at the map without compromising the use of one hand.
Fergus Duncanson
Useful when they keep changing the size of the phones!
Philip Thompson
Would use it for Strava and maybe sat-nav.
Cliff G
Not fiddling about in pockets to find phone when needing to use it. Its there in front of your nose and handy when using mobile navigation. Great idea and useful.
Hannah
I would love this – I recently smashed my smartphone screen whilst cycling with it in my back pocket, so anything to stop that from happening again would be a real treat!
Mike Croker
A much better idea than in the back pocket of my jeans!
Pete Gateley
This will be so useful.
Rhian Jones
I would use this for more exploring around the UK and beyond! Fewer stops for directions means more miles covered!
