It’s the cycling performance boost that’s free, requires no skill but that many riders overlook. So why do so many cyclists neglect their tyre pressures? We’re offering you the chance to win a pump so that by the end of next week at least one of your won’t have any excuses.
So powerful is the Topeak Joe Blow track pump, that it’s as happy inflating your road bike as it is the family car.
With a steel barrel and connectors for Presta, Schrader and Dunlop valves, the pump can inflate tyres to over 100psi.

Hi there, I always ensure my bike tyres lumped up,but I would love a track pump. Thank you in advance.
Darren C
I consider myself quite good at maintaining my bike tyres, regularly checking the pressures and find it reduces punctures and prolongs their life, as I use my car so little the same can’t be said for those. Lucky if they get checked once every couple of months!
Stephen
I try to check my tyres’ treads regularly for shards of glass or flint which are starting to penetrate the rubber. I also I’m careful about tyre pressure, so check that very regularly.
Mark Norman
We use our bikes for commuting to work and our grocery shopping. After years of just doing occasional checks, these days I aim to check tyre pressures on our ‘fleet’ weekly, by making it one of my regular weekend tasks. I’m convinced it helps our cycling efficiency and I think it helps prevent tyre wall cracking too.
Gillian
This Toepeak pump is one of the best out there in my opinion. We had one some years ago and used it loads until the connector eventually wore out. Lovely prize for someone!
Sam
I never check the pressure of my tyres, I just go by how hard they feel. Maybe having this pump would allow more consistentsy with my tyre pressures.
Alistair Leith
Joe Blow track pump looks great for getting the right pressure
Sue B
Would definitely check my tyres more regularly if I had this super-duper pump, would make the task easy rather than a chore.
Pamela
Fantastic offer. Hand pumps are such a trial.
Gareth Barker
Whilst I’m not getting out on my bike as much as I’d like, when I do, tyres are always checked. Sadly, my track pump is being held together by tape, so god only knows what pressure my tyres are actually at, other than ‘yep, that feels hard enough…’.
Donald Woodman
This is great
Doug M
I bought a Joe Blow track pump many years ago, and wore it out! I would love to have a replacement please.
Christopher Rawlinson
I always check my tyres on a regular basis as it’s so easy to lose tyre pressure going over bumps and uneven road surfaces It would be really nice to have a new pump to replace my ageing one
Thank you for your consideration
Eric Ludlow
“Your tyre’s flat” they say.
“Only at the bottom” say I.
Peter
I’ve had one of these for years and thoroughly recommend them. Mine is on its last legs so a replacement would be great
Sarah
I would be pumped up if I was to win this.
Michael
Right now I have a really short pump, less than 30 cm long so I have to work really hard to inflate my bike tyres. This Joe Blow track pump would really make my life a lot easier!
David Anthony
Getting that perfect pressure! Pump it up!
Peter Moore
Whenever I see track pumps on offer, Aldi, Lidl, (other outlets are available!) I buy two or three and distribute to family, friends, and neighbours. You can never have too many!
David Curran
There are many imitations, but only one Joe Blow! Probably the best track pump ever made, and probably the only one you will ever need. So yes, I would love one to give as a present, since mine is in perfect nick!
Philip Cooper
Hello ETA.
My cycle pump’s getting a bit asthmatic recently , I test my pressures before each ride.
Use less energy turning the pedals with hard tyres which are less likely to damage tyres, tubes and rims on potholes if you miss seeing and avoiding one.
Keep the wheels turning….👍

Who was Joe Blow?
Fergus D
That looks much better than the one I have at present. I would really like this!
Ema
Pump me up!
Jon Pennycook
My track pump is getting old, and I could do with a new one. I usually check the tyre pressure about once a fortnight.
John Newton
As an older cyclist (75) I need to cycle as efficiently as possible. A good pump would encourage me to top up my tyre pressure more often.
Gary
Pump up the volume!
Could do with this – I have three foot pumps in my garage – all broken !
Rob Lewis
I pump my tyres up to 70psi at the front and 80psi at the back – well within the stated capacity of the tyre, but I still get the occasional blow-out, such that I always carry a spare folding tyre as well as a spare inner tube. I would like to win the Joe Blow track pump – it looks much better quality than the one I’m using at the moment!
Peter Chisnall
Pump it up!
Bryn Gwyndaf Jones
Just the job! Couldn’t be better.
Inge
What’s not to love about well pumped tyres when it helps you roll so smoothly, helps avoid punctures AND you’re less likely to skid in the rain… and yet, most of us bounce on a slightly flat comfy one!
Peter
No more flats
Chris Bromwich
Looks a great piece of kit, bit bulky to strap to the cycle frame though 🙂
james
love the yellow colour it looks a useful tool
Mike Croker
Woefully inadequate – I tend to wait until it feels like cycling through treacle before checking tyre pressures. A smart new pump would shame me into more regular action!
Mark D
Fabulous pump, there are always loads of them in the pits at CX races. I’ve always had pump envy!
Karl Wallendszus
My current pump is a bit leaky and so I don’t use it as much as I should. This one looks great.
Susan Lancaster
It is so obvious how much easier it is to ride a bike with the tyres fully inflated but I am hopeless at blowing them up and usually end up with less air in them than I started with! The little hand pump that we have does not make it any easier. Please, please can I have one of these pumps. By the way I am 65 and a year ago moved within easy flat cycle ride of a small Welsh town so doing more cycling now than I have ever done in my life!
Anthony Johnson
I tend to forget tyres before I set off. I use Tannus inserts so can keep riding usually though. I do carry small pump in saddle bag just in case as well though.
Martin Baker
The best pumps you can buy. Hope I win this! 🙂
Michael Davis
I try to remember to check my pressures before every ride!
PeteG
Just what I need. My old pump has just given up on me. This is the answer to my prayers – rock solid tyres for max performance. Yesss!
Tim Earl
I keep my tyres at 70/80 psi. A new Topeak Joe Blow track pump would make this much easier.
I’ve made my own puncture-resistant tyre with foam pipe lagging.
Richard Newman
1. Squeeze front/rear tyre
Is it easily compressible?
Yes – pump up the air pressure
No – return to 1 for the other tyre
Alastair Seagroatt
That reminds me!!! Ah well.
Martin Bishop
Correct tyre pressures are essential for avoiding “snakebite” pinch punctures from potholes in our badly maintained roads.
It can be tempting to have softer tyres to cushion the sit bones but you’ll end up with tyre and tube damage.
Safe cycling.

I think this is among the most significant info for me.
And i’m glad reading your article. But should remark on few general things, The website style is
great, the articles is really great : D. Good
job, cheers
Andy Brown
With my bike I squeeze the tryes from time to time to tell but it’s really just a stab in the dark at knowing the pressure levels until I have to inflate a flat
Anita Brayford
Up to now I’ve just checked by the feel of the tyre, don’t really know what the pressure should be or feel like for best performance, and also worry that I might burst the tube if I inflate too much! Having a pump that displays the pressure reading would be a great advantage and reassurance.

Superb blog you have here but I was curious if you knew of any
forums that cover the same topics talked about in this article?
I’d really love to be a part of group where I can get suggestions from other knowledgeable individuals
that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
Bless you!

I use a vaguely similar pump – but the gauge hasn’t worked since moving house 20 years ago.
So it really is time for a replacement!
Steve
I always struggle to get tyres pumped up really hard with my old crock of a pump, so this Toepeak pump looks ideal.
I’d never misplace it in that colour too! 😀
Paddington
I do check tyre pressures regularly, as most cyclists run them too soft. I recently invested in some ‘Gloop’ to squirt into the inner tubes to help prevent flat tyres. And I always use Schwalbe Marathon tyres. This prize would really help keep me ‘on track’.
wesley
I like to put my tyres under some pressure and would be really pumped to win this. If it could just blow out the small pieces of stone and glass embedded in my tyres too that would be perfect.
Dave F
New tyres fitted for winter. Must skid less, but can’t resist.
Chris Wrigley
Perfect to add to the bike maintenance kit
