It might not look like much in the photo, but we’ve tested a fair few cycle lights over the years and this has to be our favourite. The Knog Cobber in the largest of its three size options is an outstanding bit of kit.
Belting out either 270-lumens, 170-lumens or 50 lumens, a wrap-round design ensures light is visible from angles up to 330°. Like most KNOG lights, the Cobber is 100% waterproof and includes an integrated USB charging pin, which does away with the need for a charging cable.
As with all modern bike lights, there’s dizzying choice of flashing modes, but this particular model is so powerful we prefer the bog standard steady light option.
Win a Knog Cobber
We have a Knog Cobber (Big) worth £55 to give away. To be in with a chance of winning, simply leave a comment below and we’ll pick a winner next week.

Sarah Fargher
I wanted a good rear light to keep me safe in country roads riding at 5am, so I did my research & found the Knog Cobber was what I was looking for. Why do people spend so much on front lights & then go for the cheapest poor quality options when choosing rear lights when cars approach much closer from behind? I’d love to win this light, but if I don’t I’ll be buying one anyway 😊
Helen Hughson
Who wouldn’t want a Knog Cobber?!
Phil
I’m not bright without this light
PeteG
Wow. That has got to give you confidence in being seen by our nemesis – the car driver….

Hopefully the switch isn’t the traditional sort, or it it is, that it doesn’t grime up and lose functionality. And if it does, can you easily get to it to give it a wipe?
Anita Brayford
This seems the perfect replacement for my puny rear light – bigger, brighter, all the better to be seen by on dull or drizzly day.

Carol Holloway
I want this for my husband who cycles in the dark a lot – I will rest more easily when he is out, knowing he is a well lit septuagenarian!
Andrew
I cycle woodland roads, and at night along country roads. Some drivers pass me so close they shave my legs – they’re either driving with their eyes closed or so determined not be be slowed by a second that they’d rather hit me than slow down. A light they can’t ignore might literally be a life-saver.
Thanks ETA – always on the side of cyclists!
Alastair Seagroatt
Just the thing for dark Scottish winter evenings.
Kieron
Shine the light on me! 💡
Chris
At high latitudes, long nights, short days and low sun make lights essential during daylight hours as well as in darkness.
